The Raffle Quilt Project originated in the Fiber Department in 2015 as a weekly gathering of students, alumni, staff, and faculty who work collaboratively to construct quilts to raffle to raise money for a cause. In 2016 members of the African American Quilters of Baltimore became regular contributors and valued mentors.
Once the pandemic put an abrupt end to our meetings in the middle of the spring 2020 semester, we resumed remotely. As word spread, we were joined by members of the greater Baltimore community and beyond. And membership continues to grow. This is a series of Pandemic Projects made to benefit others. More are in the works. Stay tuned. Watch this space.
