Batik is a wax-resist technique for producing designs and patterns on fabric. Wax is applied to the fabric with a brush, tjanting tool or stamp prior to dyeing to keep the color from reaching the fiber. After coloring, the wax is removed.
Jacquard’s batik wax is a 75/25 blend of paraffin and beeswax. It has better adhesion to fabric, less brittleness than paraffin alone and is easier to remove from the fabric than pure beeswax. The blend also allows for more controlled cracking effects.
Use in a well-ventilated area. Melting Point: 131-141°F/55-60.5°C
