Alginate is great for lifecasting. It is a water-based material that can be used to produce molds of hands, feet, heads, and other body parts. An alginate mold is generally only good for one or two castings. This 5lb bag mixes to a smooth, creamy, and pourable consistency. It sets to a firm but flexible material with a moderately high tear strength.  This formula sets in 5 minutes with 70°F water.
