Kitakata has a delicate and subtle laid pattern and is available in a natural or light green color. The finished paper is somewhat translucent and has a shiny texture.

Kitakata is handmade in Tokushima of Philippine gampi and has natural deckles. A silky, smooth paper, it is suitable for printmaking, bookbinding, and restoration.
