Jermaine Bell ’13 (Graphic Design BFA) Inspired by Black Internet Culture, and the aesthetics of hip hop and R&B of the late 1990s and early 2000's, Jermaine designs feature quotes from some of America's greatest black activists. Jermaine also collaborated with GlobePress at MICA to design the “Black Lives Continue to Matter” poster.

Eric Moore ’19 (Ceramics BFA) Eric is currently working as a pottery manager at Miranda Thomas Pottery and takes a great amount of inspiration from the techniques that Miranda has learned and passed down from the famous English potter Michael Cardew. He wants to make work that holds both simplicity and elegance while maintaining functionality. To achieve this he creates simple forms with an emphasis on surface design, whether that is material understandings of wild clay slips and glazes, or traditional brush markings. |

Ken Hankins ’66 (Art Education BFA) Ken and his family bought an abandoned summer camp in Carroll County the year he graduated from MICA. He and his wife have since turned the camp into a business, doing what they both enjoy the most, making pots, building kilns and wheels, and of course teaching pottery classes. The COVID-19 Pandemic has forced them to cancel in-person classes, but they have adapted and created virtual shopping appointments and are currently building an outdoor showroom to allow for socially distant shopping. |

Arpie is an LA-based artist who works primarily in craft materials and paint. Growing up as an Armenian-American, she began exploring narratives of women whose stories have been subdued or eradicated due to dispossession of land. Arpie continues to use craft and patterned paper in her 2-D works not only to allude to the Western art history's representation of the "Middle East", but to challenge the notion of gendered mediums.
